Qatar Praised for Capacity Building Activities to Implement Chemical Weapons Convention

Doha has hosted the fourth annual meeting of chemical industry representatives and national authorities of states parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) from Oct. 17 to 19. "This annual event strengthens the collaboration between the National Authorities of States Parties to the CWC and chemical industry as an important stakeholder at the national level," the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said in a statement.


Foreign Minister: ASEAN Countries Account for 50% of Qatar's Market

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that 90% of Qatar's exports head to Asia, stressing the importance of the Asian market to the State of Qatar. In an interview with the American TV Channel "CNBC", HE the Foreign Minister said that ASEAN countries are 50% of Qatar's market, so there is a continuous dialogue with the Asian countries which with Qatar is hoping to improve and develop the relationship and use the potentials in this relationship.


Qatar Calls on International Community to Promote Science, Innovation and Technologies

The State of Qatar stressed the importance of making further efforts to create a favourable environment for encouraging science, innovation and dissemination of technologies, and for promoting access to all Information and Communications Technology's (ICT) services for the benefit of all sectors of society, especially women, youth and children. Qatar Stresses Importance of Strengthening Coordinated Cooperation to Address Crime, Drugs and Corruption

The State of Qatar stressed the importance of strengthening coordinated regional and international cooperation and increasing investment in capacity-building in order to address all concerns related to combating crime, drugs and corruption. Addressing the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on Item (107) on "Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice", and Item (108) on "International Drug Control", member of the delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly Abdul Hadi Said Al Mansouri said that efforts to combat crime, the scourge of drugs and corruption face major challenges that overshadow the implementation of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan at the national, regional and international levels.


Qatar Urges Cooperation between All States to Advance Goals of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

The State of Qatar has stressed that advancing the goals and objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires cooperation between all States and abstention from any actions that might harm Member States or influence solidarity among them.
