Qatar Welcomes Signature of Constitutional Declaration by Sudanese Parties

The State of Qatar welcomed reaching an agreement on the Constitutional Declaration by Sudan's Military Transitional Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change. In a statement today, the Foreign Ministry, expressed Thanks and appreciation of the State of Qatar to the efforts of the African Union in "bridging the gap" between the Sudanese parties, and on its pivotal role in reaching the signing of the declaration. The statement expressed the State of Qatar's hope that the declaration will achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people, and its just demands for freedom, peace and justice, and to ensure real representation in the political process for all its spectrums without exclusion. The Foreign Ministry stressed the position of the State of Qatar, which supports the unity, stability and sovereignty of Sudan.


Qatar Condemns an Attack in the North of Iraq

The State of Qatar expressed Thursday its condemnation and denunciation of an attack that targeted a security checkpoint in the Saladin Governorate North of Iraq, and led to a number of deaths and injuries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed, in a statement released today, the State of Qatar's firm position of rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and reasons. The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, the government, and the people of Iraq, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.


Qatar Condemns Bus Explosion in Afghanistan

The State of Qatar expressed its strong denunciation and condemnation of the bus bomb explosion in western Afghanistan, that led to dozens of deaths and injuries. In a statement Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of their motives and reasons. The Ministry expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of victims, and to the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.


Qatar Strongly Condemns Explosion in Pakistan

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the explosion which took place near a police station in the city of Quetta, southwestern Pakistan, causing deaths and injuries. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons. The statement expressed condolences of the State of Qatar to the victims' families, the Government and the people of Pakistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.




Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Spokesperson Surprised at Al-Jubeir's Accusations Against Qatar

HE the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lulwa Al-Khater has expressed surprise at the accusations made by Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir against the State of Qatar. HE Lulwa Al Khater said in a press statement that Al-Jubeir's remarks were regrettable irony, where he began by the need for reunification of visions, the Arab and Gulf ranks, and then attacked the State of Qatar, wondering how the two things are right. She noted that al-Jubair forgot or pretended to forget that the policies practiced by the four countries that impose a blockade on the State of Qatar for more than two years are policies that split the Gulf, creating a rift in joint Arab and Gulf action, and exerting pressure not only on the State of Qatar but on a number of Arab countries. Al-Khater considered that the accusations made by Al-Jubeir were only detailed for media consumption and are not worthy of reply.


Share Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs: Blockade is Turning Point for Region's Geopolitics

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani affirmed that the unjust blockade imposed on the State of Qatar has constituted a turning point for the geopolitical situation in the entire region, stressing that the only way forward is the negotiation table. HE the Minister added that this will only happen when these countries realize that the blockade will not be the way to achieve their goals, or to remove their fears, regardless of their definition. In an open conversation hosted by Georgetown University on Tuesday on the priorities of Qatar's foreign and economic policies, and the future of Qatari relations with the countries of the world, HE the Foreign Minister addressed the successful strategies adopted by the State of Qatar to ensure national security and alleviate the human suffering of the blockade. HE the Minister underscored that Qatar would not have been able to face and overcome the challenges without the internal support from citizens and residents, adding that the state appreciates the valuable contributions of its diverse society and the role it continues to play in the future development of the country.


The State of Qatar Calls for Resolving Differences Through Dialogue and Respect of Sovereignty

The State of Qatar stressed that the dangers and challenges facing the Arab nation require the resolution of differences based on the principle of dialogue, respect for the sovereignty and independence of States and non-interference in the internal affairs of any State. This came in the speech of the State of Qatar at the opening session of the 151st session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Foreign Ministers, which was delivered today by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. His Excellency noted that the Arab world was facing many dramatic developments that will reflect on all its issues, primarily Palestine. His Excellency reiterated Qatar's steadfast stance and support for the Palestinian cause and the firm rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, led by their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the borders of June 4 of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance to international resolutions on the matter. He added that the Arab world must work together to ensure the realization of that goal.


Qatar Stresses That Unconditional Dialogue is the Best Solution to the GCC Crisis

The State of Qatar stressed that, despite the continued illegal blockade imposed on it and contrary to all humanitarian, legal and religious values and principles, and the failure to provide any evidence of the charges against it, it still believes that dialogue without preconditions is the best solution to the Gulf crisis. This came in the speech of HE Director of Department of International Organizations Yousef bin Sultan Yousef Laram in the 46th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation of the member countries, which was held in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. His Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar stands firmly in the face of extremism and terrorism in all its forms, images and causes. He added that the country plays an active role in all international and regional efforts to combat extremism and terrorism at all levels, including cooperation with international organizations and the United Nations. He also pointed out that the threat of terrorism is striking throughout the world in a flagrant challenge to all humanitarian laws and values, international laws and national legislation.
