The Embassy of the State of Qatar was opened in Jakarta in November 1997 at the level of the Chargé d'affaires ai. His Excellency Yousuf Bin Hassan Al Sai was the first Chargé d'affaires ai to be appointed to Indonesia. In view of the remarkable development witnessed in the Qatari-Indonesian relations, diplomatic representation has been elevated to ambassadorial level. His Excellency Abdullah Taleb Al-Marri was appointed in 2001 as the first Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Indonesia.

In November 2010, the Embassy moved to its new headquarters in the Mikka Koninkan (Jakarta Embassies Area), a huge complex comprising the Embassy's residence and the ambassador's residence. It was built in an area of 5836 square meters and was designed to embody the cultural and architectural features of Qatar. Mega Konigan.

The embassy provides a range of services. The consular section of the embassy is responsible for documenting commercial documents, identity documents, legal documents and other similar documents. It also issues visas according to the regulations and regulations of the embassy.

The Consular Section, in cooperation with the Public Relations Department, is responsible for protecting and assisting Qatari nationals, especially when faced with obstacles or problems while in Indonesia.

Although there is no independent commercial department, the embassy is doing its duty to strengthen trade and economic relations with Indonesia and to help Qatari companies develop their activities in the Indonesian market and provide the information and advice they need about the investment and commercial climate in Indonesia.

While the Media and Public Relations Section is responsible for providing the local media with up-to-date information and information on the developments in Qatar at all political, economic, social, cultural and architectural levels.
