The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the attack on an army checkpoint in Herat province, western Afghanistan, which killed a number of soldiers and injured others.

In a statement today, Ministry Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever the motives and causes.

The statement expressed the State of Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.
