On Thursday 16 February 2017, His Excellency Tower Matan Ruwak, the President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, met at the Presidential Palace with His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Bin Jassim Al-Hamar, who handed over his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, to His Excellency President Ruwak and wished him good health and further progress and prosperity to the people of Timor.

For his part, the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste conveyed his greetings to His Highness the Emir and his wishes to the leadership and people of Qatar for further development and prosperity.

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing and important bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields and ways of developing and enhancing them for the benefit of the Qatari and Timorese peoples.
